The Cub Section set off at 9am for the trip to HMS Belfast. When we arrived at the ship we joined the 34th, 1st City, 8th Holborn and the 12th Hampstead.
We all massed on the quarterdeck for instructions before heading off to explore the ship in our packs. The Cubs looked over the gun turrets before heading upwards and each sitting in the Captains seat looking out over the front of the ship.
We headed back downwards down the narrow ladders the leaders having to duck so as not to hit their heads.
We looked over the boat deck heading towards the focsle and the big heavy anchor. The weather was warm and the sun had come out. By 12 o clock the Cubs were hungry so we decided to sit in the walrus cafe and eat our packed lunched.
After lunch all the Cubs met back on the quarterdeck and we invested one of our Cubs Matthew.
40 Cubs and leaders joined in as Matthew made his promise in the sunshine overlooking Tower Bridge and the Tower of London.
Once the ceremony was over the pack headed off once more to explore the lower decks.
With a tight squeeze we headed down towards the boiler room.
When we had finished looking over the boiler room we headed back upwards seeing the Punishment Cells, Sick Bay, Dental Surgery, Bakery, Post Office, The Galley and Laundry.
At 2pm we headed back for our headquarters and the group jumble sale.By the time we reached headquarters the Cubs were tired but all said how much they had enjoyed the trip.
