We were shown a powerpoint slide show about the project and had a look at the kind of things they do. The scouts posed for a picture with the backpack to put in the pack with the rest of the things in there. Ther was also a diary that we could all sign and lots of fantastic stuff inside including an antler!
The International Backpackfrom the Eurotransit project arrived
in Highbury in Dec and in the home of the 201st.The Backpack is being used as a promotional idea to get the word
out about the international camp in Russia that the project are
running. Our assistant Explorer Scout Leader Mike Hickey has been
involved with the project and kindly came to do a talk on the backpack
and let us see whats inside and add to the contents.
Our Scouts did some sewing of badges on the Backpack
and and we set about finding some gifts to pack inside the bag. Of
course being so close to the Arsenal we just had to have a Arsenal
mug we also put in a scarf with the Phoenix badge some photos, a
Phoenix cap newsletter, uniform guide and some other bits so they
can see what we do. The packs next stop is Ireland for Christmas
and then back on its travels around Europe. When the camp is on the
backpack will be opened and everything in it studied during the camp.
