CARING FOR YOUR SCARF
Our Scarf

The Phoenix badge should be sewn onto the point of all the scarfs (on the non labelled side)

The Phoenix badge is the 201st scout groups badge.

The colour is Scout Green for all sections

This is an easy piece of uniform to maintain. The key to a good neckerchief is in the ironing. If it is not ironed then it will never look tidy no matter what you do. Simply run a hot iron over the whole thing, especially where the point will be formed. Try to take care of this area otherwise it will start to look 'blunt' and may fray.

Once well ironed, the neckerchief should be carefully rolled. A good way of getting a really tight, straight appearance it to roll it around a small garden cane or other similar cylinder on a hard, flat surface.

Rolling The Scarf

The way the scarf is folded
(this is not our scarf but an example)

This is how the scarf should be folded. Once ironed lay the scarf down on the ironing board with the Phoenix badge down against the ironing board.Take the long flat side and roll it towards the point of the scarf.(see image on the left) as you do each roll iron it then move onto the next one.You leave about an inch above the top of the Phoenix badge as the last fold. gather the two sides together place around the neck and pull on the woggle..The scarf should be cleaned and ironed regularly
Remember to label It

Naming Items
We recommend that you name all garments used on Scouting events; huge quantities of lost property are always found.
You can buy name tapes from Cash's
